A Trulicity tracker for the weekly pen
Four doses, a step every four weeks at the earliest, and a missed dose rule that turns on whether three days are left. Here is what to log.
Trulicity is dulaglutide, Eli Lilly's once-weekly GLP-1 for type 2 diabetes in adults and children from 10. It is also approved to lower the risk of heart attack, stroke and cardiovascular death in adults with type 2 diabetes who have heart disease or several risk factors. It is not approved for weight loss, though people often lose some. Its half-life is about 5 days.
The schedule
| Period | Dose | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Weeks 1 to 4 | 0.75 mg once weekly | Starting dose |
| After at least 4 weeks | 1.5 mg once weekly | |
| After at least 4 more weeks | 3 mg once weekly | If more glucose control is needed |
| After at least 4 more weeks | 4.5 mg once weekly | Maximum dose |
For children, the label tops out at 1.5 mg. Each step is a choice by the prescriber, not an automatic climb, so the log should hold the date each one started.
Missed a dose
If there are at least 3 days (72 hours) until the next dose, take it as soon as possible. If fewer than 3 days remain, skip it and take the next one on the usual day. The schedule does not move.
The pen
Each Trulicity pen is a single dose, 0.5 ml, with the needle hidden. Log the box as four doses remaining and the app reminds you to refill at the last.
Setting it up in Peptide AI
- Add Dulaglutide from the compound library. The unit and the weekly schedule are already set.
- Enter the titration your prescriber gave you. The app shows which week of which step you are on and when the next step is due.
- Add the pen or vial, with doses remaining and the expiry date. A refill reminder fires at three doses left.
- Pick the injection day and set the reminder for it. Most people anchor it to a day they will not forget.
- Log each dose when you take it, with the site. Notes for side effects go on the dose.
What the timeline shows
Because Trulicity is a diabetes drug, the numbers that matter are glucose ones. The free log holds the dose, the notes and the food. Premium adds bloodwork from a PDF, so each HbA1c lands on the timeline against the step you were on, plus weight, sleep and heart rate from Oura, WHOOP, Garmin, Apple Health or Health Connect.
Logging on Peptide AI is free, and that includes GLP-1s. The dose log, the titration schedule, vials with doses remaining, injection sites with a rotation reminder, nutrition, supplements and training are all on the free tier with no card. Premium adds bloodwork, Oura, WHOOP, Garmin, Apple Health and Health Connect on the same timeline, the body scanner and Remi, the coach that answers from your own log. The pricing page has the three plans.
